About

JSU - Junior Summer University. A summer camp for high school students that takes place over two weeks in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The event is organized by the OSUBB student organization, part of the Babes-Bolyai University.
I had the opportunity to be the main videographer for this event during my time as a student. In the two weeks, students will experience 100% student life, from attending courses/presentations, workshops, parties, competitions between camps, and much more. All these key points of the event had to be captured and fit into the flow of the story.

Challenges

Challenges were present both during the event and before and after. Before the event, I needed to be familiar with that year's plan; luckily for me, it was the second edition, and I had been a photographer the previous year. I had a scenario in mind that allowed me to plan my shots.
During the event, I had to always be one step ahead, especially since I also had a colleague who was camera 2, guiding them to capture the right shots. A demanding and quite spontaneous experience was that I had to create a short version of the aftermovie one day before the event's end to be screened at the awards ceremony in an event hall like a theater. In those two days, I didn't sleep for 27 hours. I managed to make that video in one night from 11 PM to 12 AM the next day, then went to film the reactions and award ceremony.

In post-production, it took 1-2 months of editing because there were many visual effects in the aftermovie. In the end, I managed to create an aftermovie that raised the standards for the following editions.
